MEDICAL SCRIBING 

               A medical scribe is a person who supports doctors and other healthcare professionals by contemporaneously recording the patient contact. The scribe assists in expediting the patient visit by taking notes as the doctor and patient converse, instantly entering the information into the patient's electronic medical record, and listening to the conversation.

REQUIREMENTS FOR A MEDICAL SCRIBE

1. Must possess a GED or high school diploma.

2. Must be familiar with anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology.

3. Computer and typing abilities must be proficient.

4. The ability to multitask while maintaining accuracy in hectic situations is required.

5. Must have great interpersonal, communication, and organisational abilities.

6. Must be able to accurately record patient information and be detail-oriented.

7. Must be able to function well and productively in a group setting.

8. Must be able to follow HIPAA guidelines.

9. Must be familiar with basic medical software.

10. The capacity to uphold patient confidentiality is required
